No More Sagging or Thick Pantyhose

By admin | March 1, 2010

The right pair of pantyhose can make or break an outfit. If you are wearing a bright color business suit or evening dress, and pair it with a white or midnight black pair of Nylons you maybe in for a long day. Some women do not consider Nylons as an important part of an outfit. They usually consider them to be an afterthought. However, as fashion continues to increase its influence on Western society increased. Nylons started to gain popularity. They are no longer just an afterthought to your daily office business suit.

The pantyhose originally created by Allen Gant. They were produced by Glen Raven Mills of North Carolina in 1959. The original pair of pantyhose was a combination of stocking and underpants all in one. Consumers loved these items because they eliminated the need for multiple foundation garments. I believe that women all over the world celebrated the day these came to market. Approximately, five years later the same mill designed a seamless pair of pantyhose. This new version just so happened to coincide with the release of the miniskirt. Women were now able to wear shorter skirts without having to worry about having their seams showing.

It was not until Hollywood entered the picture that some pantyhose styles and textures reverted back to a luxury item. Former Cat Women, Julie Newmar was not only a legendary television and film star she was also a talented inventor. She knew that improvements could be made to the everyday Nylon. Just because women had to wear them every day did not mean that they wanted everyone to know that they were wearing them. They were also getting tired of finding their Nylons sagging by her ankles. That is when Julie came up with the idea to create and patented ultra-snug and ultra sheer versions. Women could now walk around town with the confidence of knowing that their Nylon would stay up, no more sagging at the ankles. Thanks to the sheer element, women no longer looked like they were wearing thick tights daily.

Thanks to Julie’s patented ideas, manufacturers decided to expand the variety of pantyhose they offered. They now offered a variety of different colors, different thickness and different seam and seamless options. Women now had the opportunity to choose what type she wanted to purchase. She now had the choice to purchase different types for different occasions.
